Whether you're considering bariatric surgery or you're adjusting to the diet and lifestyle changes after your procedure, you should know that a strong support system is one of the most important keys to achieving your weight-loss goals and improving your health. That's why the Kennedy Bariatric Surgery Program is dedicated to providing you with the right information and resources to get the support you need.

When it comes to support, there's nothing like the opportunity to meet with knowledgeable professionals, as well as others who understand what you're going through because they've been there too. Kennedy's provides a opportunities for you to gain support and education, in person, in your community.  Meetings are free and open to both pre- and post-operative patients and the family members and friends who support them.

At our professionally facilitated meetings, you can:

  • Participate in an open discussion with our Bariatric Surgeons, Program Coordinator, and Registered Dietitian
  • Meet with other bariatric patients to ask questions about what to expect with bariatric surgery
  • Get the latest bariatric surgery information
  • Get tips on what to eat, what to avoid, and how to stay motivated
  • Share your personal experiences to help support others
  • Learn about preparing for surgery
  • Find out what to expect during hospital stay
  • Learn how to prevent post-operative complications
